Whimsical Cupcake Wreath

So I was inspired today by a DIY project on Tatertots and Jello's blog. She is on my bloglist so feel free to check her out! I know Valentines Day is creeping up but I couldn't resist trying this project because my front door was bare until today.

I started with a Styrofoam circle from Michaels, and began by wrapping it with Costco's red ribbon

Here it is completely wrapped

I then used these cupcake liners from Sur La Table to decorate the front.

I squeezed the liners in half and then began hot glueing in groups onto the ribbon, fluffing as I went.

Cupcake liners done, only took 120. Haha next time I will find cheaper ones but I couldn't resist the polka dot pattern

I then added a felt xoxo sign that I found at Michaels and embellished with red and white polka dot ribbon. I made a white flower also out of cupcake liners and put a red button in the center.

Our new festive front door!
I had a blast doing this project and was happy with how it turned out! Thank you Jen for the inspiration. I think the fun projects have just begun!
XOXO

14 Days of Love: Day 10 Boozing it up!

Tonight's gifts: Ok I must intro with the fact that Aaron and I are not big drinkers at all. We maybe drink once a month (me if that). But I have been wanting to find a wine I like. I have yet to have one I enjoy except last May my girlfriends and I went wine tasking in Santa Barbara and one wine was actually tolerable. I have been looking for something similar since, and Aaron may have found it....Needless to say here are our gifts for tonight:

Love boxes

Aarons favorite, Jager and an energy drink, my new White Haute Riesling (Check out the cute high heel on the label, it was meant to be) P.S. We didn't have any maybe tomorrow night!

Aaron was working late tonight so I went to dinner with my girlfriend Lesley. We enjoyed delicious lettuce wraps at Elephant Bar and then had this for dessert at the new frozen yogurt place at Riverpark. Delicious Date!

14 Days of Love: Day 6 Cheeseheads

Today we went over to our friends John and Sophie's to celebrate the Super Bowl. We enjoyed our day with the Richardsons, Finleys. Garcias, Elrods, and Ronson. I am not a huge football fan but who can resist great friends, yummy food, funny commercials, and an outstanding half-time show. This years super bowl also had a greater meaning for me because my Dad's side of the family is from Wisconsin and are big Green Bay fans. So of course I was rooting for them. My Papa Chuck (My Dad's Dad) was especially fond of the Packer's and sadly he passed away this fall. So it brought me great joy to see them win and made me think of my sweet Papa who was a big Cheesehead. Miss you Papa I know you're team made you proud today!

14 Days of Love: Day 5: Boppy, Brownie, Bowling

My Saturday started with a beautiful baby shower for my friend Bri. Her and her husband Josh are having their second child and its a boy. Josh and Aaron are really good friends and work together. We love their sweet family and are excited for them and their new bundle of joy. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and played some funny games. My favorite game was cutting up different pictures of Josh and Bri to form what we thought their son, Kingston, is going to look like. I wish I took a picture of some they were hilarious. A little creepy but funny! The countdown is on for his arrival!

Josh's parents beautiful new home!

In the evening we went out with our friends Paul and Calli Erickson. We enjoyed a belated birthday dinner for Paul at The Daily Grill followed by a few games of bowling. We loved our visit with the Ericksons. It was so fun to catch up, and have some great laughs bowling. We enjoy sharing this same season of life with them!

After our fun-filled day we traded gifts. I have to say the gift I received was pretty adorable tonight! But most of all I am enjoying the sweet notes that remind me of all the things we love about each other.
