Bulldog for Life!

I was born and raised in Fresno, graduated, and received my teaching credential from Fresno State so I am a Bulldog for life! I love fall, and fun football filled nights with friends. We started our evening at Casa Corona with the Garcia's and then enjoyed a Bulldog win last Saturday night. Loved every minute. Here's to a fun football season!

Yellow Chevron picture-board tutorial

I've been asked a couple times how I made my chevron picture-board in my guest room so here is a quick tutorial on how I (and my husband) made this fun piece.

Start with a white canvas from the craft store.

Tape it off with painters tape. Or use a stencil

Aaron measured out the lines to try and get them perfect.

Keep taping

Then take it outside and spray away!

Completely cover it

Let it dry, then peel off the tape (this was the fun part)

Next we just popped the canvas into a frame from Hobby Lobby

Then the hubby nailed my accent frames, that we also spray painted, to the chevron board.

He nailed three nails, spaced out down the sides of my frames too so I could add my twine and clip pictures on.

Super cute and easy!

Labor Day Sis Trip

My sister and I both had labor day off work so we decided to take a day trip to Santana Row up north. My sister, Melaney,  recently bought an adorable house so I have been helping her with decorating and all that fun house stuff.  So our trip was mostly for home decorating purposes, and of course just some quality girl time. I seriously have the best big sister. We left early in the morning, I slept through my alarm so my sister went and got us starbucks to give me a few minutes to throw on clothes. We hopped in the car and I immediately spilt coffee on my outfit (Mel calls it a onesie). We just had to laugh. That is so me! As we drove we sang, laughed, and told stories. We got to Santa Clara and hit the ground running. The mall was just opening it's doors. So we popped in Nordstroms first. (Yes I know we were house shopping but everyone needs a few end of the season sale items.) And we got some good ones!

Next stop was Z Gallerie where we got some fabulous finds! (So many that we couldn't carry them all and had to drive our car to the back door to be loaded. This wasn't the only store where this happened)

Then we took a break for lunch at the Tequilla Bar, shared a burrito, chips and guac, and a margarita. It was delicious!

We strolled Santana Row

Found some fun plates and a fabulous rug for Mel's house here

 Can't resist this place

And a little of this....

And we planned on finishing our trip here...My sister's favorite

But we walked in and it was PACKED!

So we settled for my favorite....

We stuffed the car until the trunk could barely close and things were pilled around us. I call that a success!

Such a perfect day away. Thank you sis for driving and entertaining me all day. I loved every moment!

Macaroni & Fall

On Sunday night we had a girls night out to celebrate Sophie's birthday at Macaroni Grill. I loved every second of it. These three ladies are so funny and embrace every moment of life. I love spending time with them. The birthday girl is one of the most amazing friends. She will support you in anything, and give advice at all hours of the night. She is kind, funny, and so genuine. I wouldn't trade her for anything. Thank you Sophie for being you. Our meals were delicious and topped off with chocolate lava cake uh-ma-zing! We even finished the evening hitting some shops before going home (of course). I also transformed my kitchen into fall this weekend since it's September. I'm ignoring the fact that it's still in the 90's. So here's a peek of the fun!

Nina, Christina, Sophie (they forgot to tell me to wear my black dress)

Chocolate goodness (true confessions: I ate this every night for seven days in a row on our honeymoon, and I'd do it all over again : )
